Albenza indications

Albenza (Albendazole) is an anthelmintic agent, which acts on the worms that reside in the gastrointestinal tract. Albenza is active against eggs, larvae and adult worms. Albendazole’s anthelmintic effect leads to disruption of metabolism and destruction of helminths.

Albendazole is active against tissue parasites, intestinal parasites, including hookworms, cestodes, trematodes, and protozoan parasites. It is effective in the treatment of neurocysticercosis, capillariasis, and gnathostomiasis. Albendazole kills helminths or significantly reduces their size in patients with granular echinococcosis.

Albenza is used to treat: - Neurocysticercosis caused by pork tapeworm; - Hepatic and peritoneal echinococcosis caused by dog tapeworm; - Nematosis: ascariasis, hookworm, giardiasis, microsporidiosis, etc.; - Mixed intestinal helminthiasis; - As an adjunct to surgery (surgical methods to treat Echinococcosis).

So, I have been diagnosed with trichinella in my GI tract with a stool test so my doc told me that I should use Albenza (prescribe). So, honestly, I cannot really tell by now if the drug is working or not I guess that I would be able to tell this only after I would have one more stool test. Anyway, until now I don’t have any other complaint than the fact that this drug is making me feel very fatigue. Since I am taking this drug I am feeling like I can hardly move and this is a problem. I have a job that requires movement, plus I have to move every single day, as any other person. Yeah, I have to tell you that I do not suffer from any aches or some kind of pains (muscles or joints or etc) and to any symptoms that would be similar to the flu, however, I just have a feeling like I am always totally drained of all the energy I have and that is why I always need to sit down and no to move. As I said, it is pretty hard for me now to move. I’ve got tired of this. one more thing to add is that one year ago I have gone through some cancer treatments and that is why I consider myself to be a pretty tough guy whenever it comes to the persevering even during the time I don’t feel so well. Either way, I am sure that the level of fatigue I am now suffering from is too damn much and I would like to know if there’s something I can do in order to get rid of it. I just really hope that the drug would do its job and it is not all just a waste. What I can tell you is that this extreme fatigue has taken my by a big surprise for me. hope it would all come to an end and I’ll find my peace soon.
