MS is a real pain in the A$$! I was diagnosed many years ago and suffered from it all these years though I have been on various medications. The last medicine I have been on before Gilenya was Copaxone, I took it for 5 or 6 years but only recently I started to take Gilenya as I had a severe relapse not so long ago while being on Copaxone! Now, I haven’t yet taken Gilenya for a full week but I am already able to see the positive results it gives me. Which is why I would recommend Gilenya to everybody with MS. Well, for the first couple of days I was feeling somehow sluggish and I was having some stomach upsets (such as cramping and gases) but none of them was either serious or too lengthy to complain as a big issue. In fact, I think this is normal as this was a reaction to my body while it was getting used to the medication. Anyway, the good effects outweigh the bad ones! So far, I like this medicine very much! I am very impressed that it helped me so quickly, I had a very quick improvement in muscle spasticity and this has helped me hugely to sleep better. I haven’t slept so good in years! Besides this I also had my tastes and sensations back. Only after I took this drug I realized that I have lost them so much but now, they have finally returned. More than that, I completely got rid of what I was used to think as “brain pain”. It is hard to explain but I guess that a lot of you who are suffering from MS know what I am talking about when I mentioned this “brain pain”. I am very excited and very happy to see that I have some improvements in my health and now I hopefully look forward! Hope that I would accomplish everything I can with the help of this drug.

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2010 but started with gilenya treatment only in early 2012. I was having severe relapse. Before I was on gilenya my doctor put me on copaxone but it was very ineffective with side effects such as itchiness and sore red marks all over my body. Few months on copaxone was enough to understand to that it is doing no good for me. Started with gilenya and I can say that it is a good medicine. It has proved to be very effective because it really stabilized by lesions and have shrunken them a little bit. Overall it is good but the downside I have it is that when I’m getting a wound or an infection it takes a longer time to heal than usual. I’m not sure if this is gilenya but I really don’t have another thing to point on. Now, I have to keep an eye on that because if it happens it can get much worse. I am also having the feeling of being lightheaded and nausea when I stand up quickly. I am also more likely to have colds and flu as well as everybody who’s on this medication. That is why you should ask your doctor for a flu shot at least once a year. That’s what I’m doing and I’m feeling fine. It is a doc recommendation and it seems a helpful one. Overall, the side effects are tolerable and there’s nothing I can complain on a daily basis. As for positive effects: in all these years since I’m on gilenya I have had NOT a single relapse. As you know there isn’t any cure for multiple sclerosis (unfortunately) but gilenya can help you with that. I can recommend it to everybody!

I was taking copaxone before I ever took this drug and all I can say is that gilenya is much better than copaxone. I had very unpleasant side effects from copaxone such as flu symptoms and migraines from which I got rid of very hard. Now I’m on gilenya and has been on it for nearly one year and it is working very well for me. I was having quite frequent and quite bad relapses but since I am on this miracle pill I didn’t had any and I doubt that I will have. The only thing I’m afraid of is that my body can produce antibodies against this drug and it will no longer work, whatsoever, it is perfect until now. I’m living a life without interferences of multiple sclerosis and oh boy… this is great! I just wanted to share this information and wanted to say that indeed it may be an expensive drug, but trust me it is worth the money. I’m a simple patient and being a consumer of this pill makes me feel better about the day of tomorrow and gives me more hopes than I ever had before. Hope this helps anybody.
