Humalog

I’m working as a chef and all my entire life I had big problems with the right insulin. I have started to use humalog more than 5 years ago and I’m very thankful. It replaced to me insulin R. It’s good because of its speed. I’m working with food all day long and in my situation it’s good to receive the right balance. Humalog help me to keep under control my diabetes without being worried about my health situation.
Besides this even if I’m a chef I’m trying to follow my diet. It’s hard to me because there are situations when I have to taste things that are not so good to me but I’m quite relaxed when I do this because I’m sure that Humalog its working. In order to be more relaxed about the situation I mix the humalog this NPH. This helps me to achieve the long term control on my diabetes levels. I recommend it to those that had the similar situation and are worried that humalog is not working.

I’m diagnosed with diabetes for few month now and I’ve been told to have an insulin for this. for few months I’m taking 25 units of lantus one time a day and Humalog as it is prescribed. I can feel that lantus is working well but Humalog is just a waste of time, effort and money for me due to the fact that it doesn’t work very well, in fact it nearly doesn’t work at all. When I take 10 units of this Humalog it helps me by lowering the sugar only by 10 points. Lately I have been having even 40 units with dinner alone after 2-3 hours but there’s no effect because I still have a bad time to keep my sugar under 200. I’m afraid that lately I am overdosing the use of Humalog but I don’t really know the danger of this. can it be health threatening? What are the negative effects on my organs? Could they be seriously damaged if I keep taking a higher dosage of Humalog than usual? Doubtless I don’t have any good effects from using this Humalog and this makes me angry. Even though I don’t have absolutely no side effects from it, it doesn’t work so what’s the point of taking it? when I’m telling this to my doctor he asks me each time if I’m having some side effects and when I’m telling him that I don’t he asks me “then what’s the problem?”. I think that he’s insisting on taking this drug too much now and I don’t really like this. lately I’m thinking to ask for a new doctor… what others think about thisss?

I’ve been diabetic for few years now and this interfered with my daily activities. I’m a pretty “big” man who didn’t had any control on “how” or “what” to eat. I’ve been put on Humalog some time ago and it seemed pretty effective to me. I didn’t had absolutely any side effects when I was on this drug. Everything seemed to be exactly as it was before taking it. The only slightly difference was that it helped me a little bit with my diabetes. Seemed a good drug with no side effects but with little effects. Everything changed since I was suggested to take Humalog continuously but to take Levemir along with it. Levemir is having one very mild side effect, but in fact it helped me. Whenever I was eating more than I should I was getting very nauseous so this helped me to keep my diet. Since I’m on the mix of these two medications I am losing some of my weight and my diabetes are under control. I’m very pleased! I am taking levermir maximum 2 times per day and Humalog every few hours and the effects are purely awesome! I recommend Humalog but to be taken along with levemir. The effects are bigger, at least for me.

I discovered late in my life that I was type 1 diabetic and for 4 years I take this Humalog. If I take it correctly it works very well, also I have great results if I’m not sick or stressed. I don’t know why but if other disease simple as flu appears then this drug doesn’t work as well as it should. I take it at every meal and sometimes I can take Lantus at bedtime. In general, Humalog is a very good drug to control my high blood sugar but I guess it won’t work for everybody, or who knows? I don’t have any side effects with it and this is just great! At first I wasn’t happy about taking it with each meal but later I got used and everything seems fine. I really hope it’s going to work to every diabetic at least as it works with me. I would give 9 starts out of 10! Very good but not perfect drug!
