Building tolerance to ED meds?

hello to everybody who are here reading here deciding to reply or simply read my thread regarding this rather stupid question that I want to find an answer to. I think that it might be stupid because for other people out there it might be something obvious, however for me it is not and I would really like to find out an answer to this question. so, what I wanted to know is… are there any long term users here of any erectile dysfunction medications, that you have noticed to build up a tolerance to it after using it on a regular basis for a long time? if there are any people who did noticed this to happen then what kind of medication you have been using, for how long until you firstly noticed it to happen as well as which has been the dosage of that medication you've been regularly using? the reason why I am asking this is that I am having quite a little bit on hand of this stuff and I really want to use those little buggers (I am seriously considering this out), however now, as you can understand… I am wondering and I don't know if I am going to develop a tolerance to this thing by taking one of this little thing a day. if it does make a difference, not sure… I am having handy some generic Cialis as well as some generic Viagra. which is more prone to develop tolerance to? just in case it is true that you can develop tolerance to them then would it be a good idea to try to rotate the 2? at least that's what I am trying to do know and I am not very sure if that's for any avail? can you help me with this question please?

I guess I also need to add here that I am using these drugs for recreational us and not because I really have a need in using them. the thing is that it feels really nice to impress my wife with my raging mega hard steel that I get on the date nights, besides, it is also making me feel younger too, I feel more confident and more powerful as well as it is making my wife feeling much better and for me this is just a double win situation and that's why I am so interested in using this medication. so I am all impressed and all good with them and I really like the way they work for many reasons. however this is why I am so worried now. I have learned that everything has positives as well as negative sides which means… I am going to eventually build up tolerance to them? what I am even more afraid of is…. with me using these things every day would it actually cause me erectile dysfunction? these are 2 main worries I have using them daily. or maybe… can I develop some health conditions from using them daily?

any opinions and/ or experiences would be deeply appreciated! thanks in advance.

so, look, I have been using erectile dysfunction medication for the last 10 years now and even nowadays they are still working like a charm and I am all good. I mean, I have developed no health condition from using them for all this time, I have no tolerance to them (which means that you won't develop either) and no developed ed from using them either. unlike you, I need them due to the fact that my testosterone level it is at the lower end of being acceptable and no, don't worry - it is not caused by the meds, I got this condition before ever using any one of them and, in fact, that's why I started to use meds.  good luck and hope this would be reassuring!

hey there OP, I should tell you that I have been taking Sildenafil citrate for the last 6 years or so but I can tell you that initially I have started to use it with only a quarter (1/4) of a pill, then later I have gotten up to half a pill (1/2) and now I need to take one entire pill of 100 mg (which means I started with 25 mg, then 50 mg and now 100 mg) in order to feel the effects. now I get the effects of an 100 mg pill the same as I used to get from an 25 mg 6 years ago. however I should mention here that I am in my 60's now and so I really don't know either this is because of my age, or maybe because I build up tolerance to it or maybe both. no health condition though developed from usage of these medications. in fact, I should say that I have started to use these pills after I have started to use blood pressure and cholesterol medications, that's because the ED it is one of the side effects that I have developed from those medications. maybe this helps. good luck.

hello noweley and thank you very much for answering. that's really good to know that those medications are still working very well for you even after using them for 10 years! but also, if you don’t mind me asking… could you share please how often you have been using them and what has been the dosage? thanks again.

Ores19000, thanks for replying too. I should say here that I have read that people are doing quite well by rotating the different erectile dysfunction medications so I would say that maybe it would be a good idea for you to do the same either? what I am trying to say is that since now you are on the maximum dose of sildenafil, then maybe it would be a good idea for you to try out cialis or levitra? if the 100 mg of sildenafil would stop working then that would be a bad situation for you IMO. that's the exact reason as to why I do like to keep an stock of all 3 of them so I can switch them up whenever I need. however I can say that Cialis it is my favorite from them and that's because it is lasting a much longer time than the other 2.

so well, I am using 5 mg of tadalafil per day and I am popping a 50 mg to 100 mg of sildenafil about 3 or maybe 4 times per week. that's the way I usually take them.

very well, this is pretty much depending on your age and also on your testosterone levels, that's why I suggest you to go to a doctor and to check these T levels and to ask for his advice. I know that when I am on the testosterone I really have no need for the ED drugs. as much as the erectile dysfunction pills are you might as well to start a hormone therapy either and so this way you can get all of the benefits which is including a better sex drive either, a better libido and, of course, a better and firmer wooden erection. also, if you are going to go to the doctors you are going to benefit from multiple things like for example the doctor is going to give you just enough of it in order to make you feel young once again so in this way you are not going to need to worry about the severe side effects from the medication. but also, usually you are going to feel that you have more energy, you would heal faster and so on.

but as far as the tolerance goes… well… you may be very well building up a tolerance either but it mostly depends on how much and how often you are going to be taking them. you should know that we are all having our own chemistry make up and so, you may be that kind of person who is developing a tolerance sooner and you would need more of it, or you might be that one who is not really building tolerance to them. it just depends on your own body IMO. but yeah, as it has been recommended up there, maybe it would be a good idea if you would try to rotate different medications around…

so well, I am currently in the process of visiting an endocrinologist and will, perhaps and possibly, be a candidate for the hormone replacement therapy. I really hope it would all go well, of course, but the only thing that is worrying me right now is the fact that I am only 48 years old and I am feeling like this is a little bit a too young age to be being put into a regime like that that it is going to need to be administered for the rest of my life. so since I see it here… I really just want to ask you Brutbuly, are you using the injections or you are using a gel and for how long you have been on the hormone replacement therapy now? what kind of success you had on it? would you call it an success at all? what are the benefits that you can feel/ see and what are the bad sides that you can feel/ see?! in case these are too personal questions then I won't get upset if you won't answer. I would understand. or if you want then we could talk about it privately, maybe this way you would feel more comfortable. whatever the case - thanks

hi Brutbuly and thanks for taking your time replying. regarding the testosterone levels I should say that I did have had the labs already done on my T levels. my doctor has told me that the free t levels have been at the lower level of the normal level, however still in the normal range. the thing is that I am only 30 years old and I am having good physique as I have been practicing sports for a long time and so I really do not think that the testosterone is the case here. what I am feeling that it is - most likely an anxiety problem that I have and that makes me suffer from this.

I should mention here that I did have been feeling about shooting some testosterone… been thinking about maybe like 250 mg of cypionate once per week only to check what is going to happen and how I would feel… but frankly… I am too scared to do so. I really do not want to play with these things around. erectile dysfunction pills sound to me like an much safer alternative! and not only… these sexual aid drugs are extremely cheap if purchasing online and they are working (for me) exactly as good as brand medications are working so that's why I am thinking that maybe it might be work for me to be sticking with them.

but, the thing is that I have never heard of people developing tolerance to specifically sexual aids medications and that's strange to me so I have asked this question here due to the fact that it is very well known the fact that people are developing tolerance to medications in general and I have heard that there are medications that you can build up tolerance to them extremely quickly. so having that said, I have been wondering if the PDE5i's is also one of those substances to which you can build tolerance or not. this is really important for me right now.

and yeah, I also should mention that I perfectly do understand that everybody's genetic make up is different so I do know very well that it varies which means that for some it might work while for other people it might not and some people might develop tolerance while other not. but in the end, I have only been searching for so long term users here that might help me by shading a light on this topic from their personal experience. ultimately it is because in this way I could know if maybe I need to slow my usage a little bit or there's no need in doing it. whatever the case I just want to tell you a very big thanks for your feedback anyway :) best wishes!

duganD, I have to say that I did have heard about the tolerance developing to the ED medications and that's why I think that it might indeed happen. I did have known men that are younger than 35 years old who have been using these kind of medications so often they swear to have not been able to achieve an erection anymore (or at least, a full erection) without the intake of the viagra or some other sexual aid med out there. so what I am trying to say is that you should better be careful. if you do not really need it then why would you take it? and I am not trying to say that you should stay away from them, what I am trying to say is that you shouldn't take them if you don't really have to. good luck!

well, in fact I should say that I did have heard about it either, however there are other drugs (like for example for anxiety or especially for sleep) that I have heard people developing tolerance to them much much more and you develop tolerance to them very quickly either. but anyway, I guess that you are right on the fact that I shouldn't use it when I don't really have to so I am going to slow my usage down a bit. what I am currently taking it is 5 mg of tadalafil every day and also 25 mg of sildenafil about once or maybe twice per week. that's because I am preparing to become the weekend warrior :D anyway, thanks for everything!

to me it really does not sound like you are overdoing it or anything in this matter. the dosage seems to be just fine both for sildenafil and tadalafil and I have heard that 5 mg of tadalafil is beneficial so I would say that to me (although I am not an expert) the way you're doing it seems to be just fine. and that's especially if you are mixing up the medications. but yeah, I still think that the lower the dosage the better that is why, if I have been using it recreationally and I could perform without the medications then I would tell you to simply use them on the weekend to prepare becoming the "warrior" however just go the natural way you are for the rest of the time unless you do know for sure in the mid week that you would need them. heh… I would really wish to have this option to do that myself too but I'm not that lucky.

hi, I read a lot of information about these drugs. Administering these pills will get improvements in your sexual life but if you don't have any problems in bed I don't recommend using them daily. you may get certain health diseases if you are taking daily these drugs, also you can experience some side effects. Companies that are producing these drugs made them only for erectile dysfunction and if you are not suffering from ED I recommend avoiding using them every day.
