pills that doesn't have imprints on them

Hi everyone. I would like to know whether it is this practice of putting some imprints on pills a United States FDA requirement or it is not? if yes, why and if they don’t then I have the following question: why is that when I am purchasing some pills from another country they do not have. if it’s an requirement then I do have some ideas as to why, but I would like to get an more “legal” or “logical” explanation. The reason why I am asking this is I have been using pharmaceuticals from US for as long as I can remember myself, but then more lately I have started to have orders from another countries (mostly India) and they were not having absolutely no marking at all on the pills and since I got used that at least something is there – it was strange for me seeing that there isn’t any. Are there some pills from US that does not have these imprints, what do they mean and can this practice of placing imprints on pills to be found on other pills that are not being made in or exported to the US? Thank you in advance for everything you’ve got.

Oh yeah, the FDA is requiring marking on all of their prescription medications. also, since we know that FDA is “ruling” the entire USA – yes, absolutely all of the pills within US (at least made in US or for US market) has imprints on the pills. what they mean? well, for every pill is different, you could search for this on google. And lastly, no – the rest of the world does not need to listen to the FDA (and they do not) hence, no – the rest of the world might not have these imprints on the pills that they manufacture. It does not mean that if you’re going to see some imprints then it means that they are for USA market or produced by USA. Other countries also might have some imprints on their pills too, but I don’t know which countries, whether is this a requirement for their country and so on and so forth. However, from as much as I know – pills from other countries pretty often are having no markings. at least that’s what I know. maybe there are some other few countries that do have it. and now, how do you know whether are they real? The answer is pretty simple here: you simple as that – don’t know. I would suggest you to try to get them in the push packs, however even those might be some fakes. I can tell you this: pretty often those medications that are being obtained from the countries that are not controlled by the FDA (the rest of the world besides USA) are pretty often like a casino game – you have chances that you will get some good stuff but you also have chances that you’ll get some fakes. This is why it is so important to learn as much as it is possible about that specific medication you’re intending to purchase from overseas.

It is true that all the pills without imprints are not being made nor sold in the USA, that’s because absolutely all of the prescription as well as over the counter drugs that are being made and/or sold in the USA are being required by the law to be uniquely identifiable by their imprint, by their unique color and unique shape. Thereby it means that you cannot have a pill for pain to look exactly the same as an anxiety pill for example.

But, exactly as the previous member has mentioned: those drugs that are made or coming from other countries may not follow the exact same as what is the FDA requiring, this is how it is easily explained why the pills that are having no imprints on them (or maybe some kind of vague imprints that are barely seen) are so hard to identify and they are very usually associated as being some foreign drugs, other people even automatically assume that they are fake/cheap/counterfeit drugs which is wrong because of the reasons I have stated above: other countries might not follow this rule of putting imprints on their drugs. I hope that this is going to be helpful for you :)

Thank you both for answering my questions. Anyway. as much as I think – it does seem to be like much less troubles for somebody to produce counterfeits when they are trying to make their fakes without any imprints on the pills. I am not trying to say that they would have very big troubles to counterfeit the pills that do have the imprints, however it would be harder I guess since the exact same shape of the imprints must be followed (otherwise their counterfeit pills might be easily spotted). So I guess it is really important for the pills to have them, isn’t it?

Yeah, you are right again, this does seem to be like less trouble for those companies. And it most likely is. you are right about the thing that it is most likely not too much of the problem to go ahead and to press the pills in order to look like the name brands of the pills. I’m just trying to say: just look how many different types of imprints are there. and this is a true problem because each one of those pills is having its own separate markings, this is why it does seem to be like some pretty much additional headaches for those fakeable companies. Anyway, but I am not sure about that so I am not trying to say anything with certitude. On the other hand – maybe it is very easy. I don’t know. maybe they have some kind of an pressing machine and they are pressing the X pills. maybe there is a pill press machine that does it all for them easily and if that’s true then they simply can take that pill press and to make “for example valium” as much as they want to do with no troubles at all. guess I’m gonna start searching for the pill pressing machines online and learn a bit.

In fact, pill presses in the USA are being highly and carefully regulated and watched. Those some kind of home made versions of the pills pressers that are usually used or old candy pressing machines with the home made plates. However, the actual and original presses are being hard to get ahold of and when the mg’s are so important that they are between life and death with some medications there is not being allowed any mistakes. It is very hard to make an identical press to the actual stuff and this is the reason why the biggest flux in potency of counterfeit meds are coming from the overseas.

But, do any of you know whether it is safe to use a pill that does not have an imprint? To be honest I am pretty afraid to take one. I have got one sealed package that came from India but the pills does not have imprints. I mean, what are the risks that something might happen to me? I’ve read online that there are a lot of people using medications from India, but I never thought that they are not having imprints hence I assume that in my pills could me whatever. Any help here please?

Hey there debra, who is making the pills? what have you purchased? Or at least what it is supposed to contain in them? what meds have you told that you purchased? I assume that it might be safe because I am having some codeine that it is made in India too (and they are not having any imprints on them either) and I have had no problems with them at all. I have to say that it was not the best codeine that I have ever taken but it still worked fine with no side effects. as much as I can remember, the brand name of them was Tycodin. But, if speculating more about your question whether it is safe to use a pill that does not have an imprint… oh well, I guess that there is not an definite and certain answer to this question. obviously, in case the pill is containing what it is saying that it should contain then there should appear absolutely no troubles, however in case the pill is containing something else different than what it is supposed it to contain then I guess only god knows what might happen. They might put there only a cheap ingredient that it is not harmful for your body at all but it is not beneficial either. But they might put in there something dangerous, who knows? Or maybe they might put in there something that generally is not harmful for humans body, but you are allergic to that substance, hence it is dangerous for you. as I said, there is a lot to speculate on. So well, in the end I assume that the most important question to what it all comes to it is: do you really trust the source of where you have got the pill? in case it has been a sources recommended by a friend who took some pills from that source and everything was fine then – I guess everything should be fine. but if you have used an unknown source, the first online pharmacy that you have found, then yeah.. who knows what’s in there? firstly, you may check the source online. here on the site, as well as on lot of other sites, you might find reviews about the pharmacy you’ve used.

Also, in order to make sure yourself that what you have is not dangerous and it is or it is not beneficial then you could cut a pill into 4 and then use a quarter of it and then (if you feel fine) to gradually move up from there in order to see how you react. You move up until you either feel that something went wrong or until you feel that it is a good pill. if you don’t feel well then of course something is wrong with the pills (if you know for sure that you should feel fine on the original ones), but if you do feel fine then check the dosage when you feel well. for example you might feel well on an original drug at let’s say 4 mg while on the Indian version on that drug you may feel the same at 12 mg which would mean that the pills contain whatever they need to contain but has less active ingredient. Anyway, I guess that the most important here it is to listen to your body. I wish you good luck and hope you’re gonna receive whatever you are supposed to receive.

hey there debra, honestly I am not even sure what you have expected when you have ordered? You thought that you’re going to receive the exact same pills that you are used to get? It seems to me that you are new to the IOP world and this entire game. this entire process of purchasing medications online it is just a leap of faith and you should be aware of this. you are sending your money to somebody that you completely do not know for some drugs that may or may even not be delivered at all and then, even if they finally are delivered then you might receive something that may or may NOT be what you have ordered and paid money for. this is the exact same reason why when you look at something and think that it is too good to be true then it really is. anyway, you also can get a small amount of comfort in the fact that nearly all, (I assume about 95% or even more) of the fake medications are not harmful, benign ingredients and the worst that might happen is that they won’t work for you and your whatever the condition won’t be under control. You just have to use half of the amount that you would usually use and to check how it works on you, whether it is beneficial or not. don’t worry, go ahead and take it because you’re going to be alright. but, be aware that this entire game involves a lot of risks, as you can see so it is not something for sissies. I just want to make sure that you would understand what might be expected. good luck.

I am having one white round pill that has no markings on it and  I know that it is not supposed to be modifinil 200 mg as it is supposed to be something totally different from that. sadly, I have been pretty afraid to give it a try so far, however I am pretty sure that I may give it a try and see how it works in case I would become desperate or in case I am going to read some reviews from some people who have received it from the exact same vendor I have purchased and they obviously say that it is fine to use. I do know very well that places like for example India are not required to put any marking on their medications, however sure thing it makes it difficult when you are getting them and then you’re just sitting there with that med in your hand and you are being worried about what that pill might actually contain. I know from own experience. fortunately for me, my pills are only a sample that is why I am not going to be out of money in case they are not for any good, however from as much as I can read here and see all over the internet that there are a lot of other white round pills that have no markings on them (I read it all over the entire internet being afraid of what I might got) and that they are something else than what my pills are being supposed to be. this is the reason why I guess that I am going to be pretty hesitant on making any other orders from some other countries than US until I am going to know for sure from some other people online (or somebody might tell me here) that what they have got is indeed what it is supposed to be and it has no problems. good luck you all.

Hey there Isabelle, I guess I must tell you something that you might not know and it is the fact that pills that do have the imprints on them can be exactly as dangerous as the pills that does not have imprints on them. the biggest danger here is not lying here in the problem of whether or not a pill is having marking on it, in fact it lies in where you have got those pills from. and to use some pills that you have ordered from the internet is always dangerous and you need to know it, regardless whether it has or it does not have imprints. It is pretty much like playing mindless games with your own health in all of the possible senses of these words.

In case there is anybody who is really freaking out very much about (or he/she is being worried about or whatever else) all those bad things that may or may not happen to them in case they are using a pill that does not have markings then, ladies and gentle men, you need to run and to run as fast as you can in the other direction that you have entered. This is surely not a place for you.
