hi people, i'm wondering if someone else has stomach pain when he drinks alcohol or sugary drinks. i'm suffering from this inexplicable stomach pain long time now (i'm 28). it happens when i drink sugary / alcohol drinks - next minutes after that i feel intense pain in my abdomen area. the pain is so bad that i need to lay down for a minimum of 15 minutes. the first time i felt it i thought i'm dying and i need to go to hospital. after the pain passes i am able to drink without this crazy pain. also drinks (or even fruits like watermelon) rich in sugar are able to start the pain. some people say that it can be pancreatitis, but the pain doesn't persist all the time so i think they are wrong, another opinion is ulcers, but also i don't have all the symptoms for it. every other opinions are good- to-know information for me, so share them with me, please :) waiting for your response

I can't believe that there is someone who can understand what I'm talking about! I'm in the exact same situation as you and I couldn't find nobody who could say what I have or at least what I'm talking about. I also have it long enough...... it happened for the first time when I got drunk at 17 or 18 years and now I'm 26 but it didn't passed. I'm here on this forum trying to find some informations because yesterday night it happened again. I drank only two shots of vodka, only two and the pain was so bad I also thought I'm going to die now! It started very quickly, within few minutes, but it started to pass in 30 minutes. Those 30 minutes I was in the hell...... As you I don't know what causes it even though I visited few doctors. I noticed that the pain is more intense if I drink at an empty stomach (for example yesterday, but not only). One more thing, I also noticed that if I drink water it helps a little bit. Did you tried it or it's just in my mind? I don't know why, the only explanation I have is that water is pushing down the substance which is responsable for causing pain. It would be really great if someone will share another information. Who else has it? If we all stick together and share the hints will all have maybe we'll find what is wrong with us? cheers everyone!

Today I've had similar pain in ways these posts out here after I drank only one margarita!!! I've had acute burning pain which started in the in the middle area between my ribs and spread from there to the area above my belly button and through my shoulders. Also I feel very hot throughout my whole body, like something is burning in there. This pain was so bad that I thought I am experiencing panic or a heart attack and as you I couldn't stand it. I thought I am dying!! I was carried home by my friends who didn't understand what is wrong with me. I laid down for about two hours for the pain to dissipate. I drank a lot of water which seemed to help me, that means that your theorem was right Notand. I don't know how or why but it helped somehow. I rarely drink which I guess I am lucky with, but whenever I am drinking hard liquor like margarita I was drinking today I have this. I cannot remember when the last time I drank vodka so it's hard telling whether I have this pain from it too and I don't want to try just for the experiment. I've had enough today experiments. I've also visited different doctors and none of them could help me so I do agree that we should all stick together and share the hints we all have and someday, somehow we'll find out what is wrong with us. Good luck and God be with us!!

So, I have the same experience when I'm drinking sugary alcohol and to be honest I didn't believe that there are so many people with this issue too. I'm also the only one in my region having this problem and no one ever heard about this, also no one can tell me what I can do to get rid of it. As you I don't know why I'm experiencing this but I also would want to make it stop. My friends already got used to this and they start to make jokes on it, I am tired. It all began when I was a little child, when I was drinking an apple juice too quickly it gave me the pain. Being a child I didn't know from what my pains started and this was continuing like that for few years until in elementary school I finally realized what is causing this. I have been with my mother to several doctors but they said that they never heard of something like this before. Now I'm a mature male, 24 years old and the pain is the same, it is starting sometimes with sodas but mostly with alcohol drinks. I start thinking that there is absolutely nothing I can do to get rid of this, I spent all my life trying to search for some information but still nothing, I have reach your post and still here no one knows what can I do about it. The most annoying thing is that everything seems to get worse lately. The alcohol which is causing me this terrible pain is beer and when I had my last bottle of beer I got these pains almost immediately. I drank a little more than a half only... The pain was (actually it is like that every time when I have it) terrible, it was very intense and strong, so strong that I would want to pass over those moments. I don't know whether someone out here discovered this but eating something like crackers can help and as you, I also discovered that drinking water can ease the pain a little bit, however only time is fully healing it. Usually it lasts about 20 minutes plus or minus but those moments I'm living in hell, the real time is about 20 minutes but I feel it as it is going for years. The pain is always located in my upper abdomen but later I'm feeling like my whole body is in pain. I want to tell you thanks for your posts and sharing but I really would like to know if there is someone who can shed a light on my problem.

Woah, I having similar experience each time when I drink straight liquor and I have noticed that the pains are bigger when I drink vodka or tequila. I have also noticed that I have no problems when I drink wine, beer or mixed drinks, when for example the liquid is very diluted. I would wish the same thing to happen when I drink vodka or tequila too (I mean nothing, but a little headache the next morning, haha). Well, when I do drink vodka or tequila then the next minutes my stomach is in excruciating pain, I would better describe this pain as a burning sensation that lasts completely random. Usually only for several minutes, but those minutes are the worst feeling I ever experience. Honestly, during those minutes I am starting to sweat a lot (my face especially sweats and it makes me feel like I’m burning from alive). These feelings are so painful that I feel like I’m going to die the next minutes. However, within several minutes this burning sensation starts to subside and I can continue to drink but I can still continue to have some waves of those severe stomach pains for the next couple of days. I can surely say that with each wave, the pain is gradually lessened. Since the very beginning of the appearance of these pains I thought that this is a stomach contraction. I don’t know but I assume that the pains from an ulcer are more consistent. Anyway, I haven’t yet found an answer to how should I make these pains stop regardless of how hard I try.

Anyway, I am happy to see other people understanding what I am talking about because I am already tired of my friend doing jokes on me and telling me that I can’t handle alcohol and everything is alright with me. it just feels better not being alone.
