Hey, I don't know why I'm posting this here, I guess I hope that someone else also is experiencing this. It's very strange and I don't know how to explain this clearly. This first happened at early age when I was just a kid and it continues still nowadays. I'm generaly healthy and I do not have any mental issues but sometimes I get the feeling like my hands are huge, really enormous. This usually happens when my eyes are closed up and I imagine myself that I try to pick up something really tiny. But sometimes it can be vice versa, that my hands are tiny and I try to pick up something huge. When this is happening (when my eyes are closed) I have to immidiately open my eyes just to check if everything is normal sized. Does someone knows what this can be and why I get this feeling? Does someone else have this feeling? It doesn't seem a big problem but I would love to get some anwers.

Well your wish came true, you are not the only one experiencing this. I have very similar symptoms to what you have described up there the only difference is that I get it not only on my hands, but I have this feeling on other parts of the body also, but anyway, mainly I get it on my hands. I am not an expert and I don't have any med knowledge so I can't answer your question "what it is and why you, and I, both of us have it." I also got it when I was younger and I remember that it occurred when I had fever, nowadays it can occur whenever I'm doing. I'm just afraid that I will get it too often - I started searching information on this topic now because I just had it. oooh yes, and I never had any feelings like my hands are tiny and I try to grab something big, they were always enormous. I will stay in touch with you through this forum if I get some updates.

I am experiencing the same kind of things and I started now to search info on google about this because I was sitting now at my computer and I got this. I was feeling like my hands are getting larger and larger until I felt like they were two large balloons even though they were looking normal. Honestly I am shocked that you mentioned about getting this when you had a fever when you was young because I got this in the exact same way: when I was a little kid I got this while I had a fever. However now it can happen once in a while even though I'm healthy and I have no fever. The feeling usually lasts about 15 minutes or I don't know for sure because I never kept a track, however today when I got this few hours ago, it lasted about 20 minutes and then it went away. After I'm getting this I am experiencing some light headache but nothing serious and nothing else. I don't know also what is happening and I never thought that someone else is having this. Now when I googled this I see that I was wrong and to be honest with you I'm very glad that I was wrong and there are other people with this. Thank you for posting this. Maybe someday we will find what the cause of this is and how to escape from it. If you ever will, don't forget to post your feedback here
Wow, wow and once again WOW! I am truly shocked that there other people who experience the EXACT same thing! Thank you for this! I thought that I am literally alone in this world with this issue. To be honest with you I still can’t believe that there are others! I can’t believe what I’m reading in your posts! It’s unbelievable! No one knows about this besides me! I haven’t told about this to anybody! No one ever mentioned about having something like this and that is why I thought that it’s something I’m having alone! I’m 37 years old and generally healthy but this minor issue started in the exact same way: When I was a child probably I was 7 years old then, and I had a high fever. Nowadays I don’t have fevers like I used to have back then but it happens now without me having a fever. I remember that when I had that fever I was trying to sleep but I kept having a feeling that my hands are getting bigger and bigger, especially my thumbs. I really don’t like when this is happening, I would like to get rid of this but I don’t know how! When it happened then I thought that I was dreaming but I noticed that I started to get this again and again. For me it was a shame having this so I guess this is the reason why I never told this to a doctor or my mother when I was young. I thought that something is wrong with me, like I’m crazy or I have something serious. However with time I understood that it doesn’t seem life threatening, it is just really annoying for me! I will join your group in trying to find some answers because I’m honestly tired of picking something up and having this sensation. Many times people around me can’t understand why I pick up something and then I put it right back like it is hot or something, but it is just this feeling like I’m having these huge thumbs and hands! I need to put it back in order to make it stop… I’m tired and frustrated.
Oh yes, I agree Shift, this is truly amazing! I also was the only one child in my whole region with this issue and no one ever could understand what I'm talking about! I am very and very well known to this feelin even tho I haven't got it for many years (thank God!). As everyone out here I was wondering for many many years what is all about with this strange sensation but I still can't figure it out. I have never got any answers but I have told about this different doctors, my friends (which still cannot understand what I'm talking bout) and I have searched the net some times. I don't really remember if I got this feeling while I had a fever but this wouldn't shock me because I remember I had high fevers frequently when I was a child about the same age as everyone has described. I was 6 to 8 years when I got this and I remember I was getting them during the night when I was trying to fall asleep or even when I slept, I mean in my dreams. I remember the nights when I was waking up petrified because of this feeling or when I couldn't sleep for hours. This was very strange for me, it was like hallucinations because I was feeling how my hands are getting larger and larger until they became bigger than me and the most weird thing is that I was feeling like this process is going more than an hour even tho I really doubt it was going more than a minute. It's hard to describe but whenever I was getting this I got troubles with coordinations and I felt like I got a feeling of heaviness in them. I was looking at them and I was hitting them just to see what happens. Whenever I was having it I remember like every other sensation was disconnected from me. Anyway, I don't really know why but they disappeared completely and I am so happy! I just wanted to share my story with you and to tell you what I'm happy to discover I wasn't mentally ill.
