Hey people I'm wondering why and how does gallbladder dysfunction causing dizziness or light headed? I'm getting this feeling or sensation of being light headed for months already and I'm a little scared about it. It doesn't happen continuously but from time to time and sometimes I get pains in my chest and in my ribs. I've been to a doctor for an ultrasound some weeks ago and I've done a hida scan these days. Now I know that I have no stones but for further results I have to wait a little more time. I'm truly tired of feeling this bad and sick. Sometimes I truly start to panic 'cuz I think I'm going to pass out. You may think that this is nothing but I know that if someone knows how I feel they can relate and support me. I hope that someone can help me finding out a solution for this problem of mine. I can answer your further questions for some details if I wasn't as clear as needed. I also would like to know if you have some information for me about a specific plan I need to follow in order to stop these feelings of dizziness. Thank you

So I had my gallbladder out because it was pressing against my liver about two years ago but I do not recall ever having dizziness. However I am very intrigued with your question since I had pain in the middle of my back and I felt a fullness or tightness around my middle whenever I was eating. I found out that the pain is caused by a gallbladder attack which was stimulating the vagus nerve. Sorry that I cannot answer your question but sincerly I wish I could help you. Good luck and I hope that you will get better soon.

I had my gallbladder removed about 8 months ago in an emergency operation and was found to be infected, enlarged and had multiple stones in it. Glad to say that I came back to work few days after the surgery, I just could not lift heavy things. I felt horrible before I took it out so the surgery helped me. I was taking some meds months before I had my operation but it wasn't working so that's why I had to remove it when I went to the hospital to check it out. However, as "EXCUSE" I also do not ever remember to have dizziness and I never searched something about this, however I did had some pains in the middle of my back too. I see that I had the same thing as he did, but what you're talking about it is something new for me. Maybe the dizziness isn't resposible for gallbladder? Maybe you have something else beside this? Also sorry for no response... get well...

well, i'll tell you my story and hope it is going to help you out. so, i had my gallbladder out 5 years ago and the first few months i was feeling truly awful! i have had severe pains for about half a year along with nausea feeling and the dizziness you're talking about. i went to he doctors and told them about this, they found out what my dizziness was caused by a gaulstone which they found in my bile duct. i thought that i'm going to pass it out and the dizziness as well as the other symtoms are going to disappear. it wasn't exactly like that because i was suffering from that few more years. in that time i went to the er and he told me that i'm a stone maker because they have discovered 3 more stones there. they have got and removed them out and since then i haven't had any episodes of dizziness. i don't really know if i should expect them to appear again (since they told me that i'm a stone maker) but everything seems fine so far. so this is it, the dizziness was caused by the stones so you could consult your doctor and tell him about this and maybe he will help you. good luck with that, guess you're going to need it.

I know what are you talking about, my problem is really severe! I have had such experiences where I can get so light headed feeling like I am about to hit the floor, when I'm having it I usually run to the bathroom immeditely because I have to vomit. Really severe symptoms and it seems that there's no cure besides taking out my gallbladder. I'm saying that because none of my doctors who made a lot of tests on me could not give me any diagnose or to tell me how to get rid of it. I'm also frustrated because they seem not to have any idea what they are doing and I'm having an explanation to that: one of my doctors tells that it is gastritis but when I'm telling this information my primary doctor he tells me that there's no way it is due to gastritis. Also, one of them tells me that I should feel better after I vomit while another tells me that it's not true. I'm tired of listening to them so I decided to have this surgery and to escape from this dizziness and from other symptoms as well. I'm almost sure that I will get rid of this problem if I will have it out because all people that I know who have had a bad gallbladder all they claimed to have that same "dizzy " feeling as me and everyone on this forum. I'm sick of it, of the pain and etc. After the surgery I have big hopes that I will have my life back. My normal life. Good luck with this issue everyone, hope we are going to get well.

It is pretty nice to see other people here that are also getting dizziness and or light headedness feeling because of the same reason as me. I don’t know why but I am getting a some kind of relief reading your posts and understanding that I’m not the only one with this condition. My feeling appears a couple of minutes later after I eat something. I don’t know for sure but it may depend on what I exactly eat, if it is fatty or not or something like that. Now, I have to figure it out in order to avoid that food that my body doesn’t accept. Honestly, it is somehow scary to have these feelings, I guess that’s why I am getting some sort of relief seeing you guys. I am feeling like my heart is skipping a couple of pumps and I begin to lose blood in my head. I know it sounds kind of strange but that’s the way I think about it. everything’s fine again when I lay down flat for a while. I am having digestive issues for a the last couple of years and as I can see it is only getting worse and worse as time passes. Currently I am 36 years old but the digestive discomfort started in my late 20’s. I am also having quite frequent dull pains that are located below my right ribs. Sometimes I am getting a stabbing feeling in that are too. About a year or a little more time ago, I have had the hida scan and doctors said that I am having 80% gallbladder function and sludge. However, I don’t have any visible stones there. I have tried fast routines and it feels better but even so I’m still having fatigue and pains a couple of minutes after I start to eat something. I really would want to save my gallbladder but I feel like I can’t and this irritates me. I’m getting very annoyed when I am feeling just fine, I have my lunch and suddenly I am getting these feelings and all my good wellness disappears so I have to lie down somewhere. That’s not fair. I really don’t like the idea of having my gallbladder removed but lately I am thinking about this option more and more. But… I really really don’t want it. I guess that’s because my wife had her gallbladder out a couple of years ago. She is the real proof why I shouldn’t had my gallbladder out. Since she had hers she is having issues like sudden diarrhea shortly after a meal (or even during it). I’ve been able to notice that it depends on some certain type of food but still… I was feeling very sorry for her when we were having our meals at restaurants but she had to leave the table. This is not right. And certainly I don’t want this to happen to me. I have told this to my doctor and he said that it is not the same for everybody so it may be different for me... but still…
