Hello everyone,

I have a problem that I thought it will disappear but it's just getting worse! About a year ago I felt a itchy leg on the calves area and I wasn't thinking about it as a problem but later it started itching the second leg. Now this is my biggest problem I ever faced!! I can't control it at all, I tried different methods like sprays, lotions even  putting there natural resources like lemons or even mint. It is not permanent but it's itching very frequently, and I noticed that it getting worse when it's hot, that's why I threw the dryer away!!! Last months it's itching so bad that I can't stop until my legs start bleeding.. Now my legs are all in scratches! I'm a healthy person exept this! I was consulting my family doctor but he doesn't know what to do.. he said to look up about this problem... Please help someone! What I need to do? Maybe someone had faced this itchy problem earlier.

hi man. some time ago i had the same problem so i understand you perfectly... now i can sleep well at night and nothing disturbs me because of some easy steps i followed. i know that lotions and sprays can be used just for escaping temporary the feeling of itch (so you can use them while you do the following) some of these advices i found on the internet, plus my doctor recommended them and he said to do what i was doing if it worked, and it does worked well for me... so here is what you need to do: (after a week - maximum 2 you should feel much better, let me know your results)

1. you need to use special towels just for your legs after shower, then, after every shower you need to wash them with hot water.

2. you probably are drinking coffee, and more than just 1 cup a day, if is so we just figured out what makes your legs so itchy and you need to forget about coffee. (i discovered that many have this problem because of coffee, including for me)

3. drink water, more and more water, it can be because of lack of water in your body.

4. you can try to reduce bread and cakes in your daily meal, they are somehow linked to your itching legs.

5. (until this point i started feeling great) if none of them work, in the internet i saw that the tanning bed can help... i read that UV light cured a lot of people.

i'm sure you will feel better!  i am waiting for yor response! good luck man.

oh my God, guys thank you so much! I thought I'm the only one with this problem! I have the exact same thing as you, itchy legs and it is driving me crazy! I can't stand like this! I never had seen anybody with such a problem! I spoke to a lot of people about this, they say it is first time they hear about something like this, and others even start laughing! I'm so frustrated! My doctor, as yours, said he cannot do anything because nobody came with this disease at him. I understand every single word you wrote there, about sprays, lotions and it's UNBELIEVEABLE itchy at heat. I had some disease in my past, but I don't think they are somehow connected with this. A year already full of pain with these legs, I'm scared when it comes to go to bed!!! Thank God I found your post and you guys. I thought it never going to stop, untreatable f***ing disease! Thank you hooper for your advices, I start IMMEDIATELY to follow them. dogkauf you said you will write here your results. Please write them because I want to know how it helped you. I'm so excited I finally find something about it, THANKS!

Well guys you know that we are more with this problem! I'm a healthy 21 years old male and my itch started about 7 months ago and I tried everything I have thought that it might help! I never thought that I will search info about it on the internet but I am desperate now! I have tried every lotion I found, I have changed soaps, laundry detergents, I have stopped SMOKING because of this. When it became a serious problem I have visited a dermatologist hoping that finally I will get rid of this problem but it was useless. He prescripted me lotions, creams, some kind of antihistamine and still zero effect. Some of them work for only few minutes then it starts right back. I am going crazy and I see that everyone here can understand how I feel. I have done blood test and I found out nothing that could help! I am sorry for you guys but I have the same! As you, I have also noticed that it occurs at night and unbearable itching at heat! Clearly we have the same issue and I really hope that hooper's advices will help us all. I never thought about special towel only for my legs, never thought on giving up on coffee and clearly I never thought that WATER can make me feel better and relieve this itchy sensation. I will try the UV light. I will do everything just to make it stop! WhiteField did it helped you?? Thanks for your feedback!

Hi, I have it too and this itching is also driving me crazy. Tried many things but nothing is helping. It started over 2 weeks ago and I still have it now. Mainly I have it only on my legs, as everyone here said. Since then I have been wondering what the cause is, knowing what is responsible for this and avoiding it I assume that the problem would disappear. We all know that there are no surface discolorations, rashes or any other visible symptoms so this makes me think that it is something systemic, probably dietary based (warning: just my opinion). I think that it is some allergy (but also because of no visible symptoms it is hard to say). Most probably it is wheat allergy: I personally eat a lot of wheat. I will try to avoid it and to see if something changes, hope that I'm right. I'm amazed that doctors cannot understand why that is happening, they literally know nothing about this: how to make it disappear, why we have it, what is the cause of it, N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!!

Hi everyone! I understand perfectly what are you talking about since I also have very and very itchy legs and this is happening mostly at night. Over time I have noticed that they itch, mostly inside the tibia, that’s the worse point because it hurts so bad that each time when I used my nails, bleed started to come out so I have found one thing: I’m scratching them with a boars hair brush and if feels so good... AND there’s no blood. I’m feeling SOOO happy each time when I scratch more than 30 seconds. It’s like an orgasm for my legs, that sense of happiness is good, but I would feel even better if this itch won’t come back ever again. After this itchy feeling goes away, it comes back about 24 hours later, I have this itch around the same time each day. Sometimes it happens when it doesn’t come back for few days and I have such a feeling of relief those days and each time when I’m thinking that it finally won’t happen again, I have the itch that night! As anyone here I have tried many lotions and creams, I have tried to change soaps, clothing, the way I eat, I’ve tried quitting shaving and many more. Obviously, nothing works. I’ve visited many doctors and I’ve search a lot on the internet about this and from all the information I’ve got I can say one thing: I think that in most people that have this problem (including me) this is not a skin surface problem but a circulation issue. That is why most people can’t understand how to make it stop. I know that I have poor circulation in my hands and feet, and each time they are getting cold my toes and finger are turning white, like blood is no flowing normally. It gets some times for the blood to start working properly.

Hey everyone, I don’t know for sure but I guess that our problem is caused by bad circulation. Yes, I’m also having this problem and I feel each one of you, I do know on myself how bad it can be because my legs are also sooo itchy that I scratch until there’s blood. This problem started 3 months ago and when I’ve visited a doc he said that this is due to varicose excema which is caused by the extra weight I have. I do find it logical… I’ve been told to buy dermol cream by that doc. he said to shower and then to moisture with it as often as it is possible and this should help. Yes, it helps a little bit but I still have some episodes of crazy itchiness and I start losing hopes that this dermol cream would ever treat my problem completely! This thing is truly horrible ! I would give all my money just to get rid of it now!

I am also having this problem and it comes and goes intermittently so I have started to pay attention to what possibly is causing this chronic itchy legs problem to appear so here are some common factors that I have noticed. The first thing I have noticed: it appears after I travelling so I am spending more than an hour either driving or flying. Because I am being away from my home I am eating more than usual. I have also noticed that I have eaten much more food that contains wheat than I am eating usually. Because I have travelled to my friends, I have drank wine at evening meals with my friends, a lot more wine than I drink because I very rarely drink wine at home. So here is what I have: 1) I travel so I sit a lot 2) I eat more than usual 3) I eat a lot of more wheat than usual and the last one 4) I drink wine much more than usual.

My conclusions for what is causing this problem to appear are: First. I am an overweight guys who is having a poor circulation and it is not recommended for me to sit for a couple of hours.  2) I have a feeling like my body cannot stand the carbs very well. That’s because I know by experience: when I am reducing carbs, especially the bread, I am feeling a lot better, I weigh less and the circulation in the legs is better too. 3) as you know, drinking wine is stressing out the liver so there’s a possibility that my circulation is worsening after this, especially after I had a long sit driving or flying.

I’m almost sure that in a couple of days of being home, away from wine, wheat containing products (and any other carbs containing foods) and not sitting full hours then these symptoms would start to disappear. At least I hope so because this morning I woke up with very severe itchiness. I also wanted to ask everybody else: did you noticed that the skin on the shins are becoming shiny and pretty strange? This condition is also temporary for me and I’m almost sure that it must be related to the problem mentioned in the post. What do you think? Am I right?

Itchy legs problem is an usual thing for me now. I don’t remember when it started but still now I can do nothing in order to pass over this. During this time I have tried different types of advices that I have heard from my friends, that I have seen on the internet and different forums such as different lotions and oils. This thing makes me feel very bad not just because I have this illness but also because it started to develop for me a type of depression. There are so many years that I deal with this but I can’t believe still now that I’ll have this forever. All my friends and relatives told me that I have to stay strong and that I’ll find the right drug for me. It drives me crazy because my legs are getting really itchy and I notice that every month is becoming worse.
I scratch all the time and I can’t stop do this. I want to stop so much but I don’t know how to do this. I usually scratch till my legs start to bleed and this thing creates an insupportable pain usually during the night and obviously because of this I can’t sleep. I haven’t met everyone else that has the same thing. I usually feel that I’m the only person in this world that that have this and nobody understands me… I feel unlucky and lonely because of this, because nobody can understand me. I’m very glad that I found here some of those who understands what I feel…. I hope that we’ll find the best thing for us but with time my hope is decreasing…

Hi everyone, I’m a male and I’m 19 years old. I started to have the same problem about 1 year ago and during this time I started to notice some things that happen usually all the time. First of all usually the itches on my legs are usually symmetric and I don’t have the right explanation for this. When I start to scratch I feel like I’ll stop just when it starts bleeding. Beside the scratch and bleeding I noticed that since I started to have this issue I also started to have a strange acne on my skin that are very awful and unpleasant to touch. I still don’t know if this acne is caused by the scratch or that the scratch is caused by this acne

I started to feel bad at the psychological level since I developed eczema on my eyelids. I thought that I’ll stop suffering after this itchy problem. But after I discovered that I started to have this eczema that something changed on my psychological level. I became more irritating and I started to shout at my friends and my family even though I know that this isn’t right. Now I started to use some psycho meds and hope that I’ll be ok very soon.

The most important thing that I noticed is that everything starts to pass during the night. I don’t know maybe I’m paranoid but it must indicate something. At the beginning I thought that maybe is because of my unhealthy lifestyle and I changed completely my diet but nothing changed. I know that it take a little time till my diet will change my life but personally I think that after 6 months of healthy eating there have to be some results. I don’t know what to do and how to deal with this. My doc tried different types of treatments for me but nothing changed. I started to think that I’ll have this thing till my death. I know that this is a very pessimistic thing but I’m really very disappointed and scared about my health situation. Actually I hope that soon I’ll find the drug or the oil that will change everything. It’s hard to believe in miracles but I believe that something is possible. For those that are pessimistic like me I would like to advice you something. When you feel really bad and you think that nothing will change just think about the fact that in this world exist people that have an incurable issue that is much worse than ours. Good luck for me and good luck for you.
