Hey people, I have a problem and I can't understand what is going on. I don't know where I can post this question so I decided that it something related to headache and migraines, hope someone knows something that might help me. I keep smelling smoke all the time and I can't figure out why. As you can understand I don't smoke, if I would I probably won't question why I have this. However I smell it without interuption and it feels like I'm in a really small room full of smokers even though I'm not and I'm not near them. To be more precisely I can be completely alone in my house or wherever and I keep getting it. It is like I'm having a bag over my head filled with the smell of burning cigarettes. But I know for sure that there's no smoke around me because when I asked somebody else who is in the same place with me they say that everything is fine. I know that is something wrong with me but I can't figure out what and how to stop it because it is getting really annoying. My family doctor is currently unavailable so I count on your help good people

I started to smell the same horrific cigarettes odor and I think that I'm already going crazy because of this! This is unbearable! I have it for about 5 days and I don't know how to get rid of this! Did you find out already what is causing this horrible smell? Is this something related to sinuses? Or what on the earth is causing this? I want really and really bad to escape from it because as you said it feels like I'm having a bag over my face filled with cigarettes! I thought about going to and ent specialist but honestly I'm truly running out of money so I don't want to spend them and in the end to find out that it was useless. However I did go and see a neurologist, he made some tests but he wasn't able to understand what is responsible for the smell I'm constantly feeling. That is why I don't really want to spend more money on useless tests. I have no other symptom than this and I don't remember having a disorder running in my family and I didn't have any accidents lately. Besides this I'm perfectly fine! I really wish someone could help me with some information! Oh yes, my doctor said that if he will find something useful he will call that is why I'm hoping it will take care of this smoke smell in a few more days.

I really thought that there is nobody else with this problem because I am the only one who ever complained about this problem and I have never heard someone telling that he or she is having this strange problem. I know how horrible this smell can be. This "thing" comes and goes through the day without any reason and I still don't know what I can do to stop it evn though I am suffering from it many years now. The only thing that I have noticed is that it occurs once in a while (again without any known reason) and it lasts for about 4 days to a whole week. It never really bothered me that much besides the fact that I was getting a slightly burning feelings and I feel like my eyes are somewhat dry. I also have noticed that I'm getting migraines after this "thing". I guess this is the reason why I have never visited a doctor and I never found out what is this. Certainly sometimes I'm thinking what on the Earth could this be but I have never though that it could be a sinus problem until one of my friend suggested me this few days ago. With his idea of having a sinus problem I have started to search the internet about this and thanks to you Caments I am now thinking about visiting an ENT doctor and I guess that finally I will find some answers and a treatment for this. Thanks to you and to this site! I will try to set up an appointment these days at the doctor and I really hope that I will be given some answers. If this is going to be so I will post everything that helped me out and hope that this is going to help you as well.

Sincerely, I am shocked to find you guys and this forum. I am also experiencing this smelling cigarette smoke all the time and this symptom started to appear about 3 or 4 years ago and it goes on and off continuously. When it only started I went to my doc who suggested me to take antibiotics and nasonex. By the way, besides this symptom that it is said here, I am also having severe post nasal drip – I haven’t seen anybody else to write about it yet. It was so thick that I needed to clear my throat constantly and I was getting tired of it. well, later the antibiotics helped me as well as the nasonex did, however, this cigarette smoke smell is still coming back on and off for the last couple of years. Besides those, I have also been on the z pac and on the nose spray thing too but I was already very tired of this circle going on and off. I am happy to report that I do find nasonex to help me but I really don’t want to be an addict and to be dependent on it or on any other drug for my whole life. sincerely, I would rather find out what my problem is and fix it once and forever. I don’t really feel like this is a sinus infection because my heard doesn’t hurt, in fact, it never hurt, I never have headaches. I am having a healthy way of life, I am sleeping properly, I don’t drink, I am having a healthy diet and I’m in my optimal weight. I am having this cigarette smoke smell in the summer as well as in the winter so I don’t know what’s causing it to appear. I have never been in accidents and I don’t remember to have any injuries. My teeth are also in a perfect condition, I’m going to a dentist every other month or so to check it out. Not so long ago I was recommended to try out an allergy test. However, I am having big doubt that an allergy could trigger this post nasal drip and the cigarettes smoke smell. I would be thankful to get rid once and forever from the thick thing as well. Cleaning that thing from the drip is extremely annoying. I would love if it would disappear. I’m going to write some updates if something comes out and works. So far, only nasonex seems to be ok but it is very expensive and it lasts for only half a month. I really don’t want to spend all my money on it!
