Longest Gout Attack

Hello I have a sad story about my disease but I decided that here somebody can help me and want to hear my story. I have been suffering from gout for more than 4 years and during this time I tried many types of meds that a lot of doctors promised that they would help me. One of the drugs that I have used is Allupuronal but I think that in comparison with other types it’s the worst one so that’s why I decided to make him a special “advertisement”. I have experienced some nasty side-effects that I don’t want to have anymore… so I recommend you not to use it if you don’t want to end bad.

Talking about attacks, I usually experience one attack in a month and after this I know that during a month from that moment on, everything is going to be normal (at least something). Obviously my doc decided to prescribe me something in order to control my attack so he prescribed Predisone 25 mg when I experience my gout attack. After some weeks of administration and after my first attack my doc decided that will be better to take an additional drug so that’s why he prescribed Colchicine to take along predisone. As the previous one, this drug is used when I experience the attack, it should be taken every hour until the pain subsides. During 2 years the administration of these 2 drugs it passed very well. The attack was just one per month and the drugs helped me to delete completely the pain during 3 or 4 hours after the administration. I don’t know what happened but my last attack rested for 10 days and still continue, is the fist so long rested and is in the ball of my big tie. Normally when I have my attack it is the upper or in the side joint of my big toe sometimes. Just one time happened to get it on the index finger. I was very scared about the situation and I administrated Predisone and Colochicine. At the beginning the pain was about 4 from the scale of 1-10 and after some hours it started to become worse. I know for sure that the meds are working very well but I still can’t believe how much this attack is lasting, it is already too long. I would like to find out if there is somebody how has experienced the same thing and can give me some advices of what should I do to make disappear.

My last gout attack rested for more than 10 weeks. This was terrible. I’m still recovering but it passed almost completely and I’m glad about that. This attack was the worst one and if you have had the pain 4 from the scare of 1-10 I got 10 ++++ I can’t explain how bad is this attack. At the beginning the first week I thought that it will pass and it was difficult to walk but not as difficult as now. At the end after 5 6 weeks it was impossible to walk and I stayed in bed for 5 weeks in order to recover. I understand you very well and I hope that it will pass soon. Trust me 10 days is not so long I hope that it will pass after some days and you’ll feel much better but know that there could be a worse pain.

Hey there I’m so sorry about your situation and I hope that in a couple of days will be the limit for your gout. I still can’t believe that you said 10 weeks. Oh my God this is really horrible. Tell me please what did you used? Maybe some other meds that I didn’t tried?

Yes, this was horrible and Yes, it’s 10 weeks. About the med that I used it was celebrex and it helped a lot after the last weeks. I think that without this med the recovery would be longer than it is now. The inflammation was big an uncomfortable and I didn’t knew what to use at the beginning. I have used some of the drugs that you mentioned in your previous post and I would like to recommend you celebrex. I think that it will help you… don’t wait until the recovery will become much longer and until the pain will reach the full points of 10, use it now.

I would like to speak with somebody about this. I’m a very active man and I really need to move during the day. I practice various sports but now I have to lay on my bed and to wait until it will pass. I have this gout attack for more than 1 month, I used allupronal the last week but it didn’t help. I decided to use predisone but I’m a little bit confused about this drug because some people told me that this drug is a very addictive one and that it doesn’t work in long term administration. I don’t drink and I don’t eat unhealthy food and in general I’m trying to have an active life and to take under control my situation. I would like to know more about what to do, what to administrate and about other types of natural remedies that can be applied. Thanks a lot for everything and hope for some responses.
