My son is having acute head pains

Hello,

My son is only three years old  having sharp head pains and I don't know what to do about it. I'm begging for some help. I can explain in details everything just so all to be clear, maybe in this way someone can help me and give me some answers.

These sharp and acute pains suddenly strikes my son on the side of his head which make him crying and screaming so hard that I've never seen another three years old screaming in pain like that. The pains lasts for about 15-30 seconds and then it passes by like it never was there, without any sign of pain afterwards, so he can continue doing whatever he was doing before. He describes it like something is passing thru his head and then it's simply go away, like it passed and that's it. Now I'm frustrated and really scared because I've never seen him seemingly in so much pain and I can't do something about it. First time this occurred very rarely but nowadays it's coming evey other day!!!

Of course we have been visited a doctor. Even two doctors. First we've been to a pediatrician and I've talked to get an MRI test done because this is not something normal. The doctor said that this is not an emergency so the MRI we will do in a week. I don't know what to do in the meantime. With some useful information the doctors couldn't help. They just simply looked in his eyes asking how he was feeling and if had something besides the intense pain which lasted for few second like vomiting, paralysis, seizure like activity - but he doesn't have any of what they had mentioned. The doctor said that it can be some ice pick headache but until the MRI he can't say nothing for sure. I don't know what to think about it but I'm really terrified of it being a brain tumor.

Please meybe someone else had a child with similar problem, or maybe you knew or know a child with something like this? Or you know at least something about this pain, please help me. I would be thankful for any information! Let the God be with you!

I'm panically scared!! Unfortunately I cannot answer your questions - my daughter will be three years old in two months and is having the exact same symptoms and I can't figure it out why she has it. sharp and acute pains suddenly strikes on the right side of her head and lasts only few seconds, but enough to make me really worried, it's exactly how you described it - it was very bad. I've had some health problem so first I thought it has it from me but we've visited some doctors and they said that it was not hereditary. We've done already some tests and some of them came back normally and others we are still waiting for the results, hoping the MRI results will shade a light on what's going on because none a single doctor could do it. If you have some updates keep in touch with me, I will sincerly appreaciate it! Can someone give me any ideas?

Hey there you two, I'm not a doctor and definitely I'm not a professional in this field but I will try to help me since some of my friends were able to treat migraines.

The first one who had it said that he treated it with the use of allergy medications. After that, another friend of mine who also had migraines, asked for an advice him and also cured migraines with allergy medications, so I really hope that it will help you too. The only thing that may be a problem is that I'm not sure whether these medications are allowed for ages that your children have.

I also think that it's an excellent idea for taking your children for an MRI test, it can show you something that could help. If you're out of ideas you can try my advice and to do a research on allergy medications for migraines and if what meds are allowed for children. There are chances that there is a connection between migraines, headaches and allergies, try it out. I saw how it helped my friends so I assume that it should help your children too.

Don't worry too much and focus on what you have to do to save your children. I know it's hard seeing your baby crying in pains but you have to think, not to panic. Good luck and I truly hope you're going to find a cure for them.

Hi everyone, my son will be two years old within few weeks but he is already having the exact same symptoms as you are describing them. Some years ago I was diagnosed with occipital neuralgia and I was very scared that my son is experiencing the same thing from me, however when we took him to a neurological doctor he said that this issue is not hereditary so he is suffering from other things. He said that to discover what he is suffering from we should make some tests so we have done eeg and the results came back normal and after that we have made a mri test but for the results we have been told that we should wait few more days. I'm very scared for my son because when these symptoms appeared they were really bad and even though they seem to be less frequent lately I'm still very worried. I'm now thinking to put him in hospital for a night where he can be monitored and maybe doctors will know better what they will have to do. I just want to know other opinions about this and maybe even a happy ending story, that would be great especially now when I'm feeling like this. Thank you everyone!

Hey, did someone found out what is going on and why our children are having these acute head pains? My daughter is also experiencing these types of headaches but she is only 3 years old. She has them for about half a year now but I still could not figure out what I should do to ease her pains. Lately I’m even more scared because for the last few weeks her pains are even more severe and I assume that her problem is progressing and it is even worse. Certainly we have visited our family doctor, she said that we should visit a neurologist because she cannot help us. She referred us to the neurologist to make a MRI test done. Now we are waiting for our appointment, the neurologist said that it is going to be next week. WEKEY did you get your results from the MRI test? I really want to know what they are. Please someone respond because I’m getting out of my mind, I am unable to help her as her mother but she has to suffer so young. At least a hint about what can I do, where should I go? I’m really afraid that it could be cancer or a brain tumor, I’m petrified only thinking about it! I’m begging you!
