Poor circulation in legs and black toes!!!

Hi. I need your help please. my dad is having a very bad circulation in his legs and feet so I thought that I might help him. But I really don’t know how. He is having just one of the veins in one of his leg replaced. But, before he have had the surgery he was having an angiogram that was causing his vein to totally close up but because of some holidays he have had to wait a while before he would have his surgery. He is having 3 toes that turned into a black color and instead of doctors helping him, they want to let those toes to self amputate but as much as I know this is extremely painful and this is taking a very and very long time to get through this entire process. Currently he is having some cracks in his toes that are impossible (as it seems) to heal them up. in order to do this we have tried lots of things such as an antibiotic cream, Neosporin, some crack cream but none of them worked or helped him at least a little bit. Is there somebody who has at least some recommendations and suggestion on how and what we should do in order to heal up those cracks? What we should get him? What we should do or what we should avoid? Please, anything might be helpful and I would appreciate any kind of help.
By the way, I am not sure if this matters or no but I thought that it may play a role in all this: my father is diabetic so…. Please people, I really need your help very much! once again, I would appreciate any kind of help!

What kind of doctors have he visited??? I am asking this because I would recommend you to take your father to a wound care specialist, these people know what to do in such situations. there are some very good RN’s out there that are specialized in healing those kind of problems as they are practicing in this field daily. But, the problem is that I am not sure if they would be capable to help your father because he is not having sufficient flow of blood in the legs in order to heal them. maybe they know what to do in these cases, but I’m not sure. What I really recommend you to do is to get a second opinion, please go and talk to some other doctor from another hospital or something because most of all, it seems for me that letting his toes to self amputate sounds to me pretty inhumane. Or either you haven’t expressed yourself as you should or your doctors really sound very inhumane. I am very and very sorry for you and your father! I think that those cracks that appeared impossible to heal may be a part of that process of what those doctors are expecting (the self amputation thing…). this sounds very strange for me… we live in 2015. What kind of self amputation? Are you living in US??

My father does visit a wound care specialist one time in a week and he is also having a nurse coming to his house one time a week. The doctors said that they want to let his toes self amputate not because they are inhuman but because he is having an extremely bad and poor circulation, it is so poor that in case they would remove the toes then it might result that they won’t heal so that is why they would have to keep amputating up and up until it would start healing.. they said that this can be extremely risky. His medical history (records etc) have all been sent to Cleveland Clinic in order to ask for some help but the response came that they have nothing to do for my father and they cannot help him with anything…. The biggest problem it is that my father says that his cracks in the toes as well as under his toes are extremely painful so he would want only to put to an end the pains. And it also seems that there is nobody who would have a solution for him, with his pains. This is hard for me to look at him while he goes through so much pain… I want him helped, really…
