Hey everyone, I'm new on this forum so please help me with everything you've got. So... my name is Jessica I'm 24 years old female and I was diagnosed with anorexia before. Now I'm trying to recover from this anorexia disorder and I'm collecting as much information as I can about meal plans for anorexia recovery. I don't have money to go to a doctor and I don't want to ask my parents to get them because they have been spent enough money on me. I also talked to my schoold teachers but they don't seem to be able to help me in something like this. Moreover I already have searched the internet something like this but I would like to know real feed back from real people that is why I really want to know which were your meal plans while you recovered from this disorders. What you would recommend me to do? Maybe you have some advices for me that will help me to deal with this better? Anything is going to be appreciated and thankful.

Same problem and same question here. I’m an only 18 year old anorexic female and as anyone who is suffering from this I’m trying to recover. Some few details about me: I am 5’1” and I weight only 85 pounds. I always thought that I’m just a little different from other girls in my class but I finally realized that I need to gain some weight because this isn’t normal. I even don’t feel as healthy as I should. I want to be healthy and I want to look so because I’m excessively skinny. I want very badly to start eating something, to start eating normally. I finally understood that if I’m going to starve my body continuously I’m never going to be healthy and to look how I want it to. I realized that this is going too far when I used to go up for four days without eating a thing for months (or even years). The worst thing is that when I would go eating (after four days of starving) I would eat only an apple of some handful stuff. I know for sure that I eat only healthy foods because I’m a vegan so I’m afraid that I’m going to gain too much weight somehow if I won’t control all this. I want to seek some help because I’m afraid to tell this my parents because they’re going to say that it’s all my fault so no one knows what is going on. I can’t go to a doctor – I can’t afford it because I have no money. I would want to know the meal plan which I could start with. I mean I need to know with how much calories I need to start the meal plan and how much calories should I increase by every day (or maybe week). Well at least some hints because I don’t have any idea with what should I start. Thank you guys.

Well, here is my plan and hope it is going to hope somebody:

The breakfast with morning tea: I'm taking a bowl of cereals, a banana (at least a slice), soy milk and a toast with peanut butter (you can also try coffee). After that some soy yogurt with fruits.

The lunch (most important part I think): something rich in proteins such as bacon, eggs, chicken, salmon, tuna or even turkey if you want and something fat like cream cheese or soy cheesee everything with vegetables salad again with salmon, tuna or sometimes eggs and important something important: beans. You can also eat pizza, some pasta with tuna or chopped bacon. Fat toasts for example with cheese. I mean anything what is rich in carbs, fat and proteins. In the end again some fruits but I usually only drink of fruit juice 100% natural.

You can have a snack few hours before dinner: dairy free supplement drink (milk) with a piece of toast with anything you want, like jam, nutella, margarine or something.

The dinner: again something rich in carbs, fat and protein, as I said: eggs, bacon, chicken, pizza, pasta etc etc. don't forget the vegetables salad part with fruits or at least a drink of fruit juice.

I have heard that there are exercises from which you GAIN weight and not lose them so you could go to a gym and ask this a trainer. I didn't start this yet but I'm thinking about going there because I see little change even though I have been on this for a week or so. I don't really know if this is going to help you or anybody else, but I really hope so. You just need to respect the meal plan because your body needs nutriets in order to get healed up. I'm feeling somehow better after I started this so I hope that in few days I'm going to see some changes. Good luck with this

Hey, I was also diagnosed with anorexia but I have been told that I don't have a severe case and some good meal plans should help me, well it really helps since I have now 5lbs more, well, here is my meal plan:

At breakfast:

2 servings of grains (rice, pasta) and one cup of fruits (what you want) and something dairy like one cup of yogurt or some milk

At lunch:

Again 2 servings of grains and some protein (meat, beans etc.) plus some veggies, you can measure it putting it in a cup and at the end again one cup of dairy products.

Between lunch and dinner you should have a snack from:

1 serving grain and some fruits (what do you like and want, personally I love bananas)

At dinner:

Some proteins, meat with a little more veggies because they are healthier at night and 2 serving grains.

Before going to bed you can also have a easy snack, at least this is how I do it, I'm having:

1 cup of something dairy (usually ice creams but sometimes it could be yogurt or milk with some biscuits)

Due to this meal plan I have gained 5lbs so I hope this is going to help you too! Recover well and fast!

Hi people! I have serious problems with anorexia and now I’m trying to recover myself from this too so I know how you feel. This is very difficult to me to pass over this so I also would really really like to know how to start this, what meal plans should I choose and in generally what to change in my daily activity. I'm going to start something what is written above but I thought that I need something more, am I right?

Hi dear Kyla, I want to congratulate you about this thing. I know how difficult this is. I’m very happy to hear that you feel better. So first of all I think that you have to go to the doctor. You need some professional help, because is very difficult to pass over this all by yourself. I know very well this because I recently recovered and I had many problems to pass through this without any professional help. But if you’re really interested I can tell you what I did. So first of all I started to change gradually the numbers of calories from 500 calories to 1000 and I started to gain weight: I gained 56 pounds and I was so happy. I will describe you some meal plans, so in this way you’ll have some ideas about it. So starting with breakfast I ate 2 bowled eggs with tsp of honey. When you wanna have a snack you can eat an apple or other fruits that you love. For lunch I usually had some fish and rice and if you want to you can add some vegetables as you prefer.  And for snack also some fruits or vegetables (carrots, strawberries, kiwis). For dinner I preferred to ate some not-fatty meat like chicken and potatoes and some vegetables and if you want to have a snack a little later you can drink a glass of milk or a cup of tea with some fruits like bananas. With time I started to eat more and to feel better. Don’t forget to eat something like a various kind of nuts. They helped me very much to treat all the damages in my disorder and I'm still recovering. I hope I helped you anyhow. Good luck!
