Very bad breathe!

So Im 19 years old and Im really frustrated because of the bad smell I have from my mouth, it smells like crap…  I dont understand what is my problem, I am generally healthy but have this breathing problem for about the last three years but I brush my teeth 2 times a day, tried mouth washers and I scrape my tongue – I have tried almost everything just to get rid of this bad smell. This problem is worse than it appears to be – I have serious problems talking to other people because of the smell, I feel very awkward every time someone approaches me, in public transport or in classes. Due to my throat always filled up with mucus (I can feel it and it never goes away), I am sneezing and also blowing my nose frequently, thats why its hard for me to breathe thru my nose. I dont know if my bad breath is somehow connected, but at early ages I had tonsillitis frequently, but my doctor said that they dont need to be taken out. The only idea I have is to do post nasal drip, unfortunately any other ideas I dont have. I really hope that someone can help me and give me a good advice.

I knew that I cannot be the only one who is having this problem! I'm 20 years old and I'm fighting with this problem since I was 18 and I think this is the worst period in my life to have it. I understand perfectly your pain, I'm also brushing my teeth regularly with mouth washers every time afterwards and I know that within minutes I can feel that crap smelling breath again. Also I think that it is getting worse with time and I can't understand why. Well I have checked my teeth but they couldn't find something. Now I think that this is the worst thing that could ever happen to me! I'm frustrated and very very upset on doctors because of their useless tests. I suffer every time when I see people touching their nose or "scratching" it whenever I'm talking near them or when I simply stay near them. I understand that it is not their fault and that I have a very bad breath, it's literally alike feces, but it's hard to endure these kinds of situations. I think everyone else besides us who is having this breathing problem knows what I'm talking about. If someone found a solution for this I'm begging you to help! Thanks

hello, i'm 28 and i have the very same problem for many years and to be honest i don't know how i've lived it this for such a long time. unfortunately i'm still having this problem but i would like really and really bad to find a solution for it. it is so hooooooooorible to have this breath!!!! it really smell like feces! i also don't know how my husband is enduring my bad breath! every time before speaking to him in the morning i brush my teeth, i kiss him with my mouth closed and i talk to him without approching him. i really miss those times when i could kiss him and speak clously to him. i'm afraid this problem could lead to some relationship problem. i pray to GOD every day just to get rid of this problem of mine!! i have tried many dental health brands and still nothing helped me. i brush my teeth 3 times a day and i always have gums with me. i'm so embarrassed to talk to others that i cover my mouth... i had situations when i speak and people ask if someone farted and well... that feeling sucks. however i still have hope that i will find someday a cure for this! i know for sure that somewhere in the world this cure for such a problem exists!!! i will try very hard just to find it and to take my normal life back! if someone on this forum knows something do NOT hesitate to reply. maybe u don't know for sure if it's going to work, it doesn't matter, share everything you have got!!!!!!!!

Well I’m not sure what you have people, but I can point one of the conditions that you could possibly have responsible for your problem.

So a herniation between the esophagus and the stomach can leave open the canal and in this way the gases from the intestines (as we all know that they are smelling bad) can freely pass and find their exist thought your nose and your mouth. This is the reason why nothing can help you out, I mean toothpaste, mouth washers, gums and so on. Also this is why doctors can’t figure out why you have bad breathe.

I know that a specialist can check this out by performing a ct scan. The herniation can be caused by some reasons such as vomiting too much after getting drunk (also too much). It can also be caused by some illnesses or an unhealthy food eaten daily or by crying very hard when you were a baby. Anyway to fix this up you’re going to need to pass thru a surgery because an alternate option for this is going to take years and in the end you’re not guaranteed that it is going to help you.

As I said I’m not sure about this but this is one of the logical conditions that could cause your problem. Other options I don’t have.  If I would be in your situation I won’t wait too much to find this out because the herniation that is flowing up the acids of the stomach to your mouth can cause different dental diseases so besides bad breath you could get other dental problems soon. Take this in consideration and don’t leave it as it is.

I would like to add that you shouldn’t be as embarrassed because of this. This isn’t your fault, I mean it’s not that you’re having a bad oral hygiene. You’re sick and as any other disease no one ever should laugh at you. Get checked and get well. Be healthy

I can completely sympathize you guys, I know very well what are you talking about because I'm suffering from the exact same thing for all my life. It was a big problem for me since it held me back as in professional carrier as in my personal life. I do know this very well how you feel when people are talking from your back about the bad smell, how the turn around when you're trying to say something or when they scratch they nose when sitting close to them. These things are well known by me and I have tried all my life to find a solution to this problem. I could not stand like that anymore because it seemed that everything I want to do won't work only because of my bad breath. I have tried numerous of things, numerous products, medications and diet changes but still nothing worked out. After many visits at my doctor he said that I'm having a sinus infection and I need to be on antibiotics for few days and everything is going to be ok. I used them for more than 10 days but still the horrible smell is there. Indeed it's horrible, as said above it smells like feces... However I did find a solution that worked great for me and I hope that it is going to work great for you too. I have found that Hydrogen Peroxide 3% as a mouth wash should be doing its job and it did. I have been told that it should not be used for a long period of time but I guess you won't need to use it for a long period of time because within few weeks my horrible breath went away and I'm having a fresh breath! I have stopped using it for some time now but everything still seems fine. I hope I won't have again that breath but if I will I'm just going to use this product again and I assume that it is going to have the same results. Good luck everyone have a nice day!

As a fellow sufferer from this bad breathe I know your pains and I know how bad can be your life having only this problem. I am suffering from it for most of my life and I have tried A LOT of things to make it disappear! I have tried everything without exceptions from what I know and what I heard but still, I have this problem. I am now 25 years old and I try to fix this problem for as long as I can remember. There are some days when I forget about this problem, but those days are extremely rare. Even so, my gums and teeth are fine as my dentist said. He said that there is nothing in my mouth that can make this bad breathe to appear. I’ve also been to my family doctor who said that my bowel movement are normal and this is not a cause to my problem either. Asked a lot of doctors what I can do about this problem. they recommended all sorts of nasal sprays. Doubtless I have tried them all but they simply don’t work as my bad breathe is still there. I have tried a lot of other things like dramatically changing my diet and my life in general. My diet is a lot of more healthy that it used to be before because I am now a vegetarian but… as you can see that I’m still here, I am still having this issue. I tried and I am still trying to avoid everything that can only POSSIBLY be a cause of a bad breathe. I guess it’s senseless to say that I’m using mouth washers a couple of times a day and I’m cleaning my teeth no less than three times a day. Yeah, I won’t hide that I smoke cigarettes but this problem of mine started years before I ever had a cigarette, plus this bad smell isn’t even similar to cigarettes smoke (and I’ve quite smoking a couple of times – useless). One thing is that I never had or at least never noticed before that I am having tonsil stones. I found out that I have it when I coughed up a tonsil stone. This happened a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I am seriously wondering whether I was always having these tonsil stones and if I have them now on top of whatever is causing and always caused me to have a bad breath. Sincerely I don’t have any ideas if my breath now is worse than it was before (my body got used to the smell and I don’t feel it anymore). the strange thing is that unknown people says that I have a bad breathe but when I ask me family members and my friends they say that it don’t. I have two thoughts now: either they also got used to my bad breath or they are not honest to me. anyway, if doctors won’t find out what’s my problem my depression is going to get worse and worse as time passes.
