it never really bothers me that much and it rarely occurs but i was just wondering why my eyes are pulsating from time to time? also some kind of slight twitching of lids occasionally. what is responsible for this? i didn't notice after what it appears and i don't know to what this is related to, but i know for sure that i don't have high blood pressure during that time. i think that someone experienced this too because i heard others talking about this. i remembered about it because today i had it. i have no pain or something like that, i think its just blood pumping. as i said it never really bothered me so i never visited a doctor about it to ask him. if someone knows what this is let me know

Hey there, unfortunately I can't answer your questions but I am having the same problem as you. I understand you perfectly what are you talking about. I first noticed it happen about 10 years ago, I can't remember for sure, but I still have it nowadays. The only thing I can remember that it first appearead with other symptoms such as muscles pain, headaches and constant weakness. I can't affirm that they are somehow connected with each other, but who knows? Everything passed away but this pulsating eye I still have and I don't know if there is something I can do to escape from it. I also noticed that it never causes my left eye to pulsate, only the right one and I'm upset on the fact that these pulsations is somehow affecting my vision. I'm curious if someone else is experiencing the same and how do you deal with it?

Hello everyone, I will try to help you but since I'm not a doctor I will share my opinion and what I've read during biology classes and on the internet.

I will give you some recommendations and I strongly insist to check a doctor (at least your family doctor) if your problem still occurs. Well, I don't know for sure but I do believe that the problem could be "eyestrain" and that is caused by lack of sleep and / or stress. These factors are causing spastic twitching of the eyelids.

Usually, eyestrain has manifestations as you've described up there: when throbbing occurs behind the eye or when you have a sudden eye ache. As I said it can be caused by two factors: lack of sleep (which I assume that everything is clear here) and stress caused to your eyes. That includes: keeping your eyes focused at the same distance for long time, having to change focus often (when you read from notes and then address them to an audience) or working under bright lights with high contrast. Moreover, you might stress you eyes if your work has you staring at more or less the same thing all day (staring at a computer screen all day for example). All this is very simple to explain: your eyes are controlled by muscles and when you're having this muscles to exercise too hard for too much time or when you are tensed in one position for too long also can be tiresome.

So, here are few recommendations: try to relax your eyes a few minutes of every hour or you may let your eyes to focus at a different distance. Moreover, if you drink a lot of caffeine I would suggest you to cut it down for at least awhile. As I mentioned above, I recommend you to visit a doctor if relaxation and stopping bad habits won't help you. If you notice that eye problems are giving you troubles working or especially when driving (I guess I don't need to explain this) you have to visit a doctor IMMEDIATELY! Good luck everyone and be healthy!

So I've had the same thing happening to my eye, the same throbbing of the eye muscles usually in the left eye. I first noticed long time ago, 10 maybe 12 years ago and I don't remember doing something specific for it to stop. It just stopped. Periodically I had it again but it went away. It just comes and goes like that and I'm not doing anything about it. It stopped for some good years already and I never had it again, however this eye throbbing started again about a month ago. My problem is that now it continues like that all the time. It definitely wasn't like that. I thought it is something normal when it was going like that but now I don't know. I am thinking that it is some blood pressure or maybe some stress. I'm working in an office and stare at a computer screen all day then I'm coming back home and I'm starring again at a computer screen. I think this caused my eye be like that? I think it could be strain related. Whenever I'm relaxing my eyes by looking at something else or even closing them for some minutes this throbbing sensation goes away or is greatly reduced. I will wait for a couple of days and see what happens. I'm going to stay less in front of a computer and then if there'll be no changes then I will go and check at a doctor. 12345... you don't have any updates for us?

Hi everyone I'm only 17 years old but it seems that I'm already having the same problems you guys are having and to be honest this is disturbing me a little bit. Both my eyes frequently feel like there is a pulsating, tingling sensation and even though I don't like when I'm experiencing this and this is quite bothersome I didn't went to any doctor to ask him about what is going on. I have noticed that if I rub my eyes, it goes away for a little bit but within few minutes it comes right back and so on. I also have to tell you that for the past few years I have also had pretty frequent headaches, sometimes really bad and now I'm wondering if they are somehow related between or there is absolutely no connection? I do spend hours in front of a computer each day and other than this I don't know what could be the cause. Am I right? I don't want to spend the rest of my days looking like a tweeker so I would really appreciate any insights about what I can do to get rid of this? I'm concerned that it could aggravate with time so I should do something about it now until it's not too late.
