Appendicitis lasting 2 months??

Hi, is there somebody who is familiar with appendicitis and is caring about other people? I’m asking this because it seems that I have appendicitis but my doctor isn’t caring so much about it, and in general he doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing.

I have a very strange situation that I cannot explain very well… I mean, I can explain what’s happening to me and what I’m suffering from, but I cannot explain why I have it. anyway, I am suffering from a strange pain that’s located in my right side for the last 6 weeks. In fact it is almost 7 weeks now. so well, when I visited my doctor he told me that he supposes that I don’t have appendicitis, however, lately, when he saw that he cannot help me, he said that it could be appendicitis and that’s what could be wrong with me. but I am now wondering if appendicitis can last that long. It has been nearly 2 months now and I wanted to ask you about this because my doctor, as I said, doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing. Since the first day, I have had a CT scan, a LOT of blood tests, I have also had 2 ultra sound and a couple of days ago I have also had one hida scan (when they couldn’t see anything) and even so, even with all these tests, everything came out to be fine. so much time passed and so many tests has been done but they still don’t know what’s wrong with me. but, because of this pain I cannot work, I’m not able to work and since it started I haven’t properly done my job. Lately I am getting very frustrated, I never thought that so much time would pass and these pains would still be there. my doctor doesn’t seem to be so concerned about all this thing but I’m under the risk of losing my job and besides – I’m simply tired of being in pains. Now, describing what I feel – these pains are mostly like a dull pains, pretty constant and some times I do have some sharp pains too and even though they don’t last too much, they are hurting very much (and by the way they have gotten even more intense for the last week). All these pains are located in my lower abdomen side, in the right side and I’m TIRED of them. oh yeah, about tiredness, besides this, whenever I’m getting a little bit tired (but I cannot do it very much during the day because of the pains), the next day I am seriously exhausted without doing anything.

Since all this nightmare started, I have been tested for possible cysts, for gallbladder and blood work for god knows what. as you can see, my situation is pretty strange and it seems that I cannot find an answer to my problems so if there is somebody who has some suggestions for me, or maybe you have some ideas of what this could be and how to get rid of the pains then I would deeply appreciate that. I don’t know what this is and this is killing me. if I would find out at least what is this, I would already feel much better.

Hey there, I’m sorry that I cannot come with any help but I just wanted to let you know that I have been suffering from a quite similar pains as you have described but for me it already lasts for more than 9 months. That is why don’t stop searching for an answer because the pains won’t stop. I don’t want to scare you but I mostly want to warn you that this can be annoying and frustrating, much frustrating than you can imagine. In a couple of days I would be seeing a specialist and I hope so damn hard that he would be able to help me. it really seems to me that there are a few people out there (as me and you) that simply cannot be helped by doctors in any ways. As you I have also been tested for a lot of things but with no success. Doctors started to give me some pills without knowing what’s going on with me, they simply hoped that a “whatever pill” would help me. obviously it didn.t I really hope that you would figure it out what’s all this and if you do then don’t forget to write me back because it’s very important for me too. I wish you all the best!

I don’t have appendix but my brother has and I know a little bit about it so I would try to help you with everything I can. We have discussed about it a lot and I have to tell you both that appendix can last 2 months, and to be fully honest with you appendix pain can last for about one YEAR. I have found out one secret why doctors are often saying that you are not having appendix and why they avoid admitting it. that is why, both of you should be very careful with it and try to go for multiple opinions and trying to do something about it. especially the second poster who said that has it for 9 months. But, you, having it for 2 months, also can be having the risk of it exploding. Anyway, let’s get started. I know that appendicitis is starting as soon as your appendix is getting blocked by matter or by some kind of food that you are eating. When that matter or food is blocking the opening of the appendix it won’t explode immediately (though there are some people who experience this) so you are feeling some pains in your lower abdomen in the right side (where the appendix is located). Pretty often, people are asking their doctors to check their appendix due to the fact that they have some pains in the lower right abdomen. As you do. so now, the big secret, and why a lot of doctors don’t see that you have some appendix issues is that when they are checking it out with a couple of tests and after that they tell you that you’re not having appendicitis only because it hasn’t exploded yet. This is a mistake and my brother got lucky that our doctor is very good and have seen it and treated it. that doctor was the one who told me all this and he told us that appendix can last a year (I’m not a doctor so I wouldn’t tell you this) but the doctor said that it can last so much time without exploding even though that food or matter responsible for appendicitis to happen isn’t YET infecting your appendix, however, sooner or later, it will. That’s what I know for our doctor and from a doctor that really helped that is why I would like to believe that this information might help both of you. have a nice day and I wish you good luck!

Agreed, appendicitis can last a year even though it rarely happens. However, it happens. When my daughter was 10 years old she was looking like she was a skeleton with some skin on her. she was so sick that I was afraid that I would lose her. I haven’t seen a sicker child ever in my life. she was suffering from very high fever, extremely high blood count, she always complained sky high level pain on her stomach as well as many other symptoms that you can put on appendicitis. When I’ve asked doctor to do something and when they have done some tests they said that everything was only in her head and in that moment I could kill everybody out there. but everything changed when she had a 105 fever and she stayed in hospital for 2 weeks. There she had all the possible tests, she had so many tests during those 2 weeks that I have ever had in my entire life. and all of them being with no answer at all, all those doctor were telling me that it is not an appendicitis but they also couldn’t tell me what she’s suffering from. after a lot of time, after a lot of tests and when my daughter could hardly move (that was the time I was thinking that I can lose her), they have FINALLY decided to have an surgery and to explore. I guess they have finally decided to do it because they saw that she could die. So, a couple of hours later the doctor, after the surgery, he asked me why my daughter didn’t had her appendix removed until that moment? I was shocked. Anyway, they have removed it and in less than one month (in about 2 weeks or so) I had a completely new daughter, she was a very happy child again and she has been feeling fine since then. I don’t know if this would help somebody but I wanted to let you know this story regarding appendix and its effects and consequences.
