Hello everyone. I use Olysio with Sofovir (sofosbuvir) for hepatitis c. I have discovered that I have hepatitis c not so long time ago but I have also discovered that I do have it for a very long time, I have found out that I have got hepatitis c in 1988 when I have gave birth to my daughter (I am currently 49 years old). After I have gave birth to her I have required some blood due to the fact that there have been some complications that I’ve had during her birth. So well, in September or so (the last year in 2015) I have scheduled a visit with my doctor for having a colonoscopy. I have scheduled it because I have been feeling very and very tired all the time, it has been an tiredness that I could not explain. I was simply getting it out of nowhere. I have had a general feeling of sickness, I was not feeling well at all and although I could not tell what was wrong with me, I could feel that there is surely something wrong by the way I was feeling. That sick feeling was very bad and it got to the point when I have been feeling like soon I’m going to die. I was honestly feeling very and very bad. After feeling that way for so long time I have been near like convinced that I am having either cancer, either something else that’s pretty much as dangerous as cancer is. Plus, there’s something else I can mention and it is the fact that I have been using Enbrel for very much years. I just wanted to mention this because I have never found out that I have hepatitis c although I have been having liver panel blood work every 3 months since I started to use the Enbrel (I started to use it many years ago). and every single time I have done it – everything was normal. I think that this is pretty strange that I have had so many tests for liver and all of them come back with a good result. anyway, only after I have went it for the colonoscopy my doctor has found out that I have hepatitis c and while I’ve been thinking where I have contacted it – I have been told that it might be from the blood transfusion that I’ve had back in 1988. I just wanted to tell you all this because you should know that you might live with hepatitis for a lot of years without even knowing this and that’s why you should be aware of it. I think. a test would never hurt. Besides, as I said – regular liver panel tests never showed up that there’s something wrong with me so I think that Hep C is not that easily detectable. I have started my treatment with Olysio and Sofovir as soon as I have found out about the virus. It got cleared up in less than a month with these 2 drugs. I have got a check in the 27th day of my treatment. it showed that my VL is 0. The side effects have been very mild to none at all. sure thing I recommend this drug to everybody along with sofosbuvir. I wish you all good luck.

So well, this drug seemed to work as it did cured my Hep C genotype 1, however I am not sure if it’s THAT good because my Hep C returned. Look, I am having Hep C type 1, liver cirrhosis and I have had an treatment which consisted in Copegus and Pegasys for 48 weeks as well as the doc put in there an 12 weeks treatment with Olysio too. I can say that I was not feeling any side effects and it seemed that it would go all fine, however as I said – after only approximately 2 weeks or so after I have stopped to take the drugs (I’ve completed the course) my doctor has done another blood test and I’ve been told that the viral content is present once again. I did know that it might have happened because the doctors have told me about it, but I really hoped that it won’t. so, having this said – I doubt that Olysio is such a good drug for curing Hep C. although it did not gave me any side effects and cured my Hep C – it was for no avail as in the end it returned. So nothing good about it. what really helped me was a viral treatment of 6 months which consisted of Solvadi plus Daclahep (I’ve made a review about Daclahep for those interested). During that kind of treatment I also did not had any side effects, the Hep C also was undetectable but the best part is that the virus remained undetectable months after stopping the treatment which means that it won’t return back. That’s what I really recommend.

Suffered from Genotype 1 Hepatitis C virus. Doctor found it out by some blood works. Started with the treatment of the combination Olysio and Sovaldi. Doc said that it is an usual combination for people having genotype 1 Hepatitis C virus and he said that most of his patients find it useful as they are all (or at least mostly) cured. But he warned me that regarding the side effects it might differ from one person to another. He said that he has seen his patients complaining on nothing from the start to the finish of their course while others complained on some side effects from the very first day until the last one. so I have had no ideas what to expect. Very well, about a weeks ago I have finished with my 12 weeks course of Olysio and Sovaldi and I can tell you the following: I am very happy with the results and the side effects were… let’s say that from a scale from 1 to 10 they were… approximately 6. During my treatment I have had a blood work and my doc said that my virus load is 0 so the drug has done what it is supposed to do. but regarding the side effects – I have got some red rash areas all over my skin. No, it was nothing that bad like a giant tomato :D but I’ve got some rash-ed skin areas and it was a bit annoying. I have also got some insomnia which soon later led to tiredness and this made me be a bit easily irritable. I guess that all of these side effects were co-related as then later my immune system went low and this is why I have caught a lot of cold and sinus issues. But I’ve cured all of them and in the end my Hep C got cured too and I am fine by now (though I am still feeling a bit…strange). I guess that a bit of time would pass and I would be even better. oh yeah, I also have to say that during the time I was on this treatment I was in full of stress (and I am still now) so I think that this might have played a role too.

In the past I have had interferon taken with ribavirin for my chronic Hep C that was for years. my doctor has told me that I need to follow this regimen for 48 weeks. I took everything as it has been directed by my supervisor, however this still did not resolve my virus problem that is why it was obvious that I have to change something. After a while my doctor called in and told me that there might be another combination that might do a good job about it. doctor seems to be right this time as I am currently using a comb of Sovaldi along with Olysio and I am currently in my 8 th week of it and after a blood test I have been said that now my liver is finally cleared up from the virus and my load is 0. So talking about the main thing – what this drug need to do, it is obvious that it does so it works very well against the Hep C virus. Speaking about the side effects points and this drug is still really good as I have very little and mild side effects. everything I can mention about is only a big of headaches (occasionally, I am still able to function) as well as tiredness which are both until this moment but are not unbearable. So, taking into account the fact that this drug does not give you any horrible side effects and it does the job that it should do then yeah – this is a very good drug for Hep C patients that is why if I would be you then I would ask your gastro or infectious disease doctor (or whoever else tries to cure your Hep C virus) to at least try give you this drug in case you really want a complete cure of Hep C. wish you good luck with it.
