Guidance for Eldepryl (selegiline) administration
Selegiline is used as a monotherapy in the early stages of the disease or as adjuvant treatment to levodopa therapy. In both cases, the starting dose is 5 mg, which is taken in the morning. The dose can be increased to 10 mg per day (in the morning or in two divided doses). The dose of levodopa should be reduced in case of adverse reactions caused by levodopa therapy.

Be particularly careful when prescribing selegiline to patients with gastric ulcer or duodenal ulcer, labile hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, severe angina pectoris, severe liver or kidney disease or psychosis.
