my administration of neupogen started because I discover that besides chemo treatment that I had to do, I have had some problems with the low level of neutrophils in my white blood cells. The fact is that before chemo I had to treat first of all my neutrophils disease. After I have had my fist shot I started to develop a severe pain in my joints and it troubled me. Some of them started to swell so I was obligated to take hydrocodon-acetaminophen to kill this pain. After some days the pain disappeared. I was scared to take again Neupogen. At the beginning I found it to be worse than for example neulasta. After I solved the problems with my blood I did my chemo. But the problem started to appear again. My doc was obligated to give me 4 shots of neupogen. This time it worked perfectly. I think this is because of the distance between the shots. After the 4th shot I felt myself fine. I did not experienced pain as it was before, just some tiredness. Now I can definitely say that I’m glad that I found Neupogen. Even if it has so many different side effects with using the right doses its works very good. It did a perfects job with my neutophils blood cells and gave me the opportunity to do my chemo and to feel myself better. At the present I’m trying to fight the cancer disease with my chemo. I’m glad that I’m able to do this and that I have the hope that one day I’ll be able to recover completely. As a conclusion I can say that even if I experienced those negative effects and that terrible pain, I think that it was worth it. No doubts.

I’m a 39 years old female and I have taken Neupogen 480 mcg. I have been told that this is the highest dose because there’s also a 300 mcg dose so I guess that my condition was way worse than others who’re also taking this drug. I have taken it for 3 sessions now and they have helped me greatly. The white blood cell, hematocrit and my neutrophils, all of them up are now very well especially if compared to what they used to be before I ever took neupogen. I do have some side effects from it but they’re nothing compared to what benefits I have from it. Moreover, the majority of these side effects can be treated with the help of other meds. if you want me to explain them then: one day, in the evening I’ve got a pulsating pain that was starting from my lower back and getting up. The pain was pretty bad but the doc said that I can take ibuprofen and only the 400 mg dose of ibuprofen killed the pain and I was feeling fine again. besides this, I had one time bad pain on defecation but it never returned since then. Other than these side effects everything is purely fine and I’m very pleased! I have used other medications but they didn’t really helped me and only gave me other side effects such as acid, gas, nausea, dizziness and so on. This medication helps me. You just need to follow your doc advices and tell him everything you feel and know so he can be able to help you exactly where and how you need. If you’re not explaining normally then the doc might not understand what you have so he might be wrong in what he gives you. This is why, sometimes the side effects are way worse than the benefits….
